Our first ever Neil Young exhibition, of photographs from the archives of Joel Bernstein, is now up and running, and looking fabulous. It will be up on the walls until 10 November 2012. If you haven’t had a chance, please do have a look at the work – it’s all here. We have now added some interior photographs of the gallery exhibit so that you get a better idea of how these photographs look framed up, in the flesh.
You might be interested to learn that Joel’s archive extends beyond Neil Young, as he has photographed Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty and others. We have now included some of our favourites on the gallery website.
The photograph of Bruce alongside was taken by Joel in Hell’s Kitchen in 1979. I don’t know if this was coincidence, but the first four letters of the graffiti on the wall spell out the photographer’s christian name. Spooky!
