Our major exhibition for the autumn runs from 1 October to 26 November 2016, and is a very special one: Birds of Britain by John d Green.
John d Green took a series of photographs over a 12 month period from April 1966 to April 1967 of some of this country’s most beautiful women, and published them in 1967 in the seminal book Birds of Britain. John d Green has never exhibited or offered work from his archive for sale as signed limited editions before, so this will be his inaugural exhibition.
Here is one of the photographs in the exhibition – a close-up portrait of Alexandra Bastedo, a British actress best known for her role in the 1960s TV series The Champions. Alexandra passed away in 2014. Followers of British indie band The Smiths will recognise this as the cover photographs for their 1988 album Rank.
Alexandra comes in a range of sizes, and each limited edition photograph is signed and numbered by John d Green.
