Denis O’Regan
Denis’s photographs of David Bowie span nearly two decades, but those taken in 1983, when he accompanied Bowie for nine months on his most successful ever tour, are from the period when he and Bowie became firm friends.
Denis was given unprecedented access, and his photographs capture not only Bowie’s unique stage performances but candid, unguarded offstage moments, or as Denis puts it: “Catching another side of the enigma.” Denis first officially photographed Bowie outside Olympic Studios in Barnes, as he arrived to record Diamond Dogs. However his first live pictures had been taken as a true amateur, at the Hammersmith Odeon, on the night before Bowie retired his Ziggy Stardust character. Less than ten years later Denis returned to the Hammersmith Odeon, this time as Bowie’s official photographer on his 1983 Serious Moonlight world tour.
We are delighted to offer both Denis O’Regan’s incredible limited edition box set, Ricochet : David Bowie 1983, as well as signed limited edition photographs by Denis in sizes up to 30 x 40 inches.

Ricochet : David Bowie 1983
In June 2018 Moonlight Books published Ricochet : David Bowie 1983 – a museum quality fine art boxed set, limited to 2000 copies worldwide. Acclaimed as the most ambitious Bowie book project ever, Ricochet : David Bowie 1983 focuses entirely on just one year in David’s life, as captured by Denis O’Regan, when he toured the world for the first time in five years. This was the first project to be authorised by the David Bowie estate, and the certification includes the official estate stamp, designed by Jonathan Barnbrook.
