Blondie-Picture This 1978
Announcing details of a special portfolio box of 25 signed limited edition photographs from Martyn Goddard’s 1978 sessions with Blondie.
Martyn Goddard first worked with Blondie in May 1978, when he caught a £99 Freddie Laker DC 10 to New York and spent a week with the band, shooting them on stage, on the street and in their hotel. In June he was back in New York, this time photographing the band while they recorded their album Parallel Lines. His photographs from that session appeared on the “Picture This” seven inch single sleeve, and the picture disc version of Parallel Lines.
Back in London, in August 1978, he staged an exhibition of photographs from the two New York shoots, and took more photographs of the band at the exhibition—in what became his third shoot with the band.
Martyn has selected 25 of his favourite photographs from these sessions to offer collectors in a special portfolio box set.
