Can you supply frames ?
Yes – we can supply any photograph unframed or framed.
Please note that the prices shown on the website are, with one or two exceptions, for unframed photographs. (Exceptionally, an artist will supply a piece in a specific type of bespoke frame which they have specially chosen for the artwork, and if this is the case you will see that in the description of the item on the website.)
If you have placed an order for an unframed photograph and would like to discuss framing, get in touch with us and we can take you through the options. If you then decide to use framers local to where you live, that’s no problem, and we can simply supply you with the unframed piece. If you have a specific framing requirement in mind, it is often easier to get it sorted locally – but we are happy to help wherever we can.
We have used the same framers for many years and quality is very high.
Standard black frames
Our standard ‘house’ style is a black frame with a square edge, and an acid free archival window mount, and standard glass. Very large sizes typically require box frames without window mounts. We can also supply work in museum glass, which has anti reflective properties, and enhanced uv filters. Our framers usually turn around orders for standard frames inside 3 weeks.
Delivery of framed pieces
For UK mainland customers, because of the risk of glass breaking in transit, we have to use additional specialist packaging. As a result, if you need us to deliver framed work, there is a delivery charge based on size / location. We simply pass on the delivery company’s charges here – there is no mark-up. For customers outside the UK mainland, we always recommend that we send you an unframed piece, and that you arrange framing locally. This avoids the risk of glass breaking in transit, and also avoids the enhanced shipping costs. These can be significant because a special bespoke shipping case has to be made by a dedicated international art shipper. Often the cost of shipping a framed piece internationally can be as much as the cost of the frame itself, and this is why the vast majority of our non-UK customers prefer to arrange local framing. Of course, if you do want us to send a framed piece overseas, we can of certainly do it.
Get in touch and we will run through any questions you may have on framing, and give you all the price information you need.
