Bruce Springsteen by Frank Stefanko
Corvette, Winter (1978)—Frank Stefanko’s most popular image—is down to the wire
Corvette, Winter — taken by Frank Stefanko in Haddonfield, NJ during the winter of 1978—has been available to purchase as a limited edition in a range of physical sizes. It needs no introduction to Springsteen fans – Bruce even chose it for the cover of his autobiography. Frank Stefanko has very fond memories of the shoot:
“Bruce arrived in a slick ’60 Corvette. I think that car was his pride and joy. It was loaded, it was sleek, it ruled Route 9 and the New Jersey Turnpike. I imagined what it would be like to be Bruce, cruising in that ‘Vette up the Pike under that giant Exxon sign in the wee, wee hours, thinking up song ideas while listening to his favorite tunes in that bad-ass Corvette.”
Almost all of the limited editions are now sold, and we are right down to the wire – we have just one example left in inventory in the 30 x 40 inch paper size – which consisted of 25 signed and numbered prints and 4 signed and numbered artists proofs.
It is framed and ready for delivery – as you can see from the photograph.
