Alison Stockmarr
We are delighted to be working with acclaimed British collage artist Alison Stockmarr.
I came across Alison’s work while visiting an art fair earlier this year, and quite simply, it blew me away. She produces beautiful collage artworks, based around books, letters and other objects—to which she applies content from her huge collection of printed ephemera. Each three dimensional piece is sprinkled with her personality and sense of humour.
I wondered whether she had ever considered applying her considerable talents to seven inch singles, and it turned out she hadn’t. So we talked, kicked around some ideas, and hey presto our collaboration was born. The idea is really a simple one: to celebrate your favourite song by commissioning a bespoke piece by Alison — something made just for you, which you can look at every single day and which will bring a smile to your face.
As you scroll down this page you will get the idea. They really are quite beautiful.
This is the kind of thing…..
I want one ! How does it work ?
There are two ways.
First, we have a number of pieces made up and ready to go— you can see them as you scroll down this page. If we have something in stock that floats your boat, then everything is nice and easy—just order it online and we will get it to you without delay. Some of these are sold already, but if you love something that we have sold, don’t worry—Alison can make you something similar. It won’t be an exact replica as no two pieces will ever be completely alike, but the vibe will be the same.
Second, if you would like something made as a bespoke commission just for you, based around a favourite song, then we make it as easy as possible. The first thing is for you to choose the record. It can be literally anything in the world of recorded music, as long as it exists on the A-side or B-side of a seven inch single. From ‘Voodoo Chile’ by Jimi Hendrix to ‘Voodoo Voodoo’ by LaVern Baker (or Den Hegarty if you like), we can make it happen. Your imagination is the limit. For example if you want every Beatles single, or every Bruce Springsteen 45, we can do that for you.
If you already have the record, you just send it to us. If you don’t, it is no problem at all–we can source it for you. There are usually some interesting coloured vinyl options out there—in fact you can see some in the examples below. Where we source something for you, the cost of the record is added to the cost of the artwork.
Then once Alison has the record, she will go through her archives and put together a design for you. This part of the process can take around four weeks, depending on whether she needs to source specific content that she doesn’t already have.
How much is it?
The cost of a bespoke artwork based on your chosen seven inch single is £ 350 plus the cost of the single if we have to source that for you.
For that price we supply you with a 16 x 16 inch unframed window-mounted mixed media artwork, signed and titled by Alison on the front, ready for framing.
Delivery of that unframed window-mounted piece is included if you are in the UK mainland, but shipping charges apply where we ship outside the mainland.
We can arrange framing for you if you would like, in your choice of a black or white frame. Ask us for a quote based on your location.

What about albums?
Yes – of course. Alison can make a bespoke piece for you based around your chosen album.
These have a different dynamic, because they include both the sleeve, and the record—shown partially out of the sleeve.
You can see some previous examples below.
A commission for an album costs £ 2,000.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a commission.
